Laboratory for Cytopathology
In 2006 medipalestine established a laboratory for Cytopathology in cooperation with the University Hospital Basel in Beit-Sahour in the West Bank. The department for Cytopathology at the University Hospital Basel had trained the personnel for several months beforehand.
The laboratory was equipped with telemedicine equipment. Help in assessing conspicuous pap smears was provided by the University Hospital Basel and by other experts with the aid of telemedicine.
In February 2011 the laboratory moved to Ramallah, where it was integrated into the newly opened Dunya Women’s Cancer Clinic (WCC).
