Medical missions in the Saharaoui refugee camps

Sahrawi refugee camp in Tindouf, Algeria:

Maysoon Iraki and Monika Schwyter traveled to the refugee camps in Tindouf, Algeria, to undertake initial project assessments and to provide service at the Rabouni hospital and the Smara refugee camp.
During a second visit in November 2022, Maysoon Iraki and Inge Ruhe performed gynecological examinations and minor interventions on women with large perineal ruptures and incontinence after childbirth. They also trained midwives in ultrasound diagnosis and in the management of high-risk pregnancies and birth complications.

Members of medipalestine travel to the Sahrawi refugee camps once or twice a year and carry out women’s health missions.
