Surgical Missions in Mauritania
Medical care in Mauritania remains underdeveloped, with a critical shortage of physicians – especially specialists – as well as essential medications.
In July 2024 and April 2025, Maysoon Iraki, Inge Ruhe, and Diyala Alhusein carried out medical missions and performed gynecological surgeries at the municipal hospital in Nouadhibou, Mauritania’s second-largest city. This initiative is conducted in cooperation with the Mayor of Nouadhibou.
